PROJECT WORK- Articles Critique- Blair Witch.

First of all, I issued in my own page an article about the blair witch myth. this is about a northamerica myth, exactly a myth from Maryland. And this myth says that "in 1785, a woman accused of witchcraft is banish from the village of blair, Maryland, and a year later, her accusers and half of Blair's children vanish. The town of Burkittsville is established at the site of the abandoned village about forty years later, and over the next one hundred and fifthy years a series of child murders and mutilations takes place. in 1994, three students decide to travel to Burkittsville to film interviews with local about the Blair witch legend as a class project, and a couple of days later they disappear in nearby woods. No trace of them is found until the footage they shot is discovered under an cold cabin a year later"1. Furthermore, this is the film that everybody saw in the cinema. Despite this is scary, this is a fake, because some scientists discovered that the murders was because of an hermit that killed seven children around 1940-1941 but the newspaper hide this because want that the myth of the Blair witch won't disappear. Moreover, the journalists did the same with the three students that supposedly were lost in the woods, and died. The film only was created by a director to take the attraction from the people and sell it. So, Blair witch project is only a lie.

To conclude, here we can see how the myths are created to take human beings minds trapped in an entertaining game and that is why people doesn't like to belie some tales and try to persevere the myths. In summary, this show to us a part of the north america culture that believe a lot in paranormal things.

PROJECT WORK-Articles Critique.

Celtic Numbers Mythology

This is one of the article that one of my classmate did and it's about an europe myth. this is about how some numbers for the celtics had their importance. the article explains that all these numbers have a particular meaning and are associated with some places, things that are in the nature or some values. Additionally, in the article are considered only five numbers that are three, seventeen, five, twenty-seven and thirty-three. In addition, I will give a brief definition of each other.for example, three was a sacred number in ancient Celtic mythology and religion. Secondly,Five signified the family unit and order in Irish tradition, because of the five provinces of Ireland, and also the five laws imposed on provincial Irish kings. Seventeen was a number associated with the cycles of the visible moon, particularly the new moon. Twenty-seven represented the sacred number nine tripled three times, which supposedly triples its potency. Finally, Thirty-three represented the royal or judicary number, signifying great honor.

In my opinion, this is a very intersting myth about the european culture and that is because the celtics was one of the firsts cultures that was in the old continent. moreover, here we can find an explanation of some changes that happen in the nature and know the thought of that ancient culture. however, I think that the article left behind some things like, for instance, the importance that thirty-one had for the celtic culture because here is where the halloween started. also, this was one of the most important feast for the celtic culture.

First of all, American indians used to believe that the nature is animated by a spirit and those idians called it "the great mystery" . furthermore, any story or myth is working out of this life-force. so, native americans respected the whole nature, especially, animals because they thought that animals teach a lot of things about nature. besides, they used to believe in "four directions" that guide the life, and they explained that in the narrative stories using animals or other things. but the objective is to show some values and virtues to people. nonetheless, I will focus in two things: native american myths and urban myths that are a continued of those indians myths, furthermore, a lot of horror movies were inspired by this urban myths and this urban tales express Northamerica culture today.
